controversial but i actually dont believe teenagers having a cottagecore aesthetic is inherently a pipeline to white nationalism
if this was unclear, i’m not saying cottagecore is beyond criticism. i don’t think any aesthetic or online subculture is. but i also think it’s an overreaction to treat it as like a colonialist psyop when it’s mostly teenagers who are disillusioned with an urban capitalist lifestyle and almost always lean progressive
